I'm a huge podcast fan. Perhaps that's why I started one of my own! I have undoubtedly listened to thousands of hours of podcasts. I gobble up spoken word content like it's my job... and in fact, I listen to podcasts almost everywhere except while at work!
I listen while I walk my dog in the mornings, while I work out, while I cook, while I clean, while I garden, while I get ready for work, while I'm driving....uh, yeah, so basically all the time I'm not actually interacting with another human being. I love some of them so much, I've listened to their entire catalogue (of 300+ episodes) 3 times.
Yeah, I'm that girl.
Anyhow, right now I'm listening to a few that I really love. If you're looking for something to listen to (while waiting for our new episodes to come out), then try one of these!
1) Dungeons and Daddies: Not a BDSM Podcast
Don't play DnD? No problem. Don't like DnD? Not a problem either. These four friends are about the funniest sons-of-guns I've ever heard. The premise: four dads from our world on their way to soccer practice are sucked into a vortex to the Forgotten Realms in a quest to rescue their lost sons. They drive a minivan, and exude powerful dad energy. Plus, one of them is played by a woman and she fucking rocks. They all do, but I just want to be Beth May in my next life. Seriously though, episode 6 I laughed harder and for longer than I'd laughed in years.
Thank goodness I found this podcast. Deborah Francis-White and her guests have been a source of guidance and giggles for the past few years. Apart from being hilarious, it is insightful, real, and honest about what it's like to be a feminist in today's world, amidst the "hypocrisies and insecurities that undermine" it. Listening to this podcast has made me a better advocate at my own workplace - I see dumb shit and I call it like it is now (more of the time), instead of just getting frustrated over it. Don't fing tell me to put my "earmuffs" on, this is a g-damn business meeting and it is 2019!!!! Anyhow, DFW is amazing and if I can't be Beth May I would also love to be her <3
