Courtney's Copycat

In the introduction of episode 8, we discussed "Copy Paste Chris," the author who blatantly copied the works of many of our favorite romance authors.

I recommend that we, as readers, take a moment out of our day to do a few things: One, read Courtney's entire blog post, two, follow some of her directives to help if you can, and three, don't buy any of Cristiane Serruya's books. Courtney's Blog articles: Cristiane Serruya is a copyright infringer, a plagiarist, and an idiot. What to do about #CopyPasteChris

A note from the editor of Royal Love I find this passage particularly compelling:

"Let me be frank: This sucks. It sucks that someone took my heart work for their own. I wrote the Duchess War in the midst of a massive depressive spell and I bled for every word that I put on the page. It was a hard book to write and it’s not yours to take. For someone to take that emotion and just…shove it into this nonsensical bullshit…it hurts." - Courtney Milan

The last update on Courtney's blog about this comes from February of this year. This is all a bit of old news, but there's no way that this is fully resolved - these things take a lot of time and bureaucracy to go away. So, if you're so inclined, take a moment to read her blogs and send an email or two and help out the authors that so frequently help us through our own troubles.
